Partnership Pays Dividends
10th August 2004

A new partnership between Ken White Signs, the Tiverton based signage company and Strokesaver, the Paisley based publisher of the internationally renowned Strokesaver Distance Guides and scorecards, is paying huge dividends. Together, they have formed Together in Golf – an association to provide the golf industry with the ultimate one-stop service.

Ken White Signs, who have been supplying a wide variety of signage for clients since 1967, have recently specialised with golf course signage for the some of the world’s most prestigious courses including Gleneagles, and have also just finished a project giving a complete makeover to the signage at Padbrook Park Golf Course in Cullompton, Devon, for which the company gained top marks.

Padbrook’s spokesperson, Gary Scargill, said: “We’re extremely happy with the work having looked around the market place before choosing the supplier. We chose Ken White Signs because of its reputation for customer service. The company has an exceptional customer service record with a reputation second to none. The quality of their signs is absolutely superb.”

General manager of Ken White Signs, Chris White, added: “Extensive improvements are being carried out at Padbrook Park and our signs have been specially designed to complement the new image. We have been very pleased with the job and it’s been a pleasure working with the course officials.”

Of the partnership with Strokesaver Chris said: “There’s a really good relationship between the two companies. We’ve done a few joint projects already, one of which is Hamilton Golf Club in Scotland – a Strokesaver customer converted into a Ken White Signs customer.

“Together, we’ve jointly taken part in the Golf Secretary’s Show, which went very well. I think initially people were a bit surprised to see us together, but everyone seemed to feel it was a positive move. We can see Together in Golf (TiG) progressing in the future.”

The joint association has enabled both companies to take on Diane Searle, a sales and servicing rep, who will be covering the South East of the country. Of her appointment, Chris said: “Diane has proved to be a really good acquisition and with her onboard, we’re now able to quote for many more new projects.

“Her experience and ability mean that she’s more than just a sales rep, she’s a service rep, making sure everyone is looked after. To us, the golf industry is about being in there for the long haul, and offering the best in service. Good customer care is vitally important to us and courses that use TiG will benefit from the pooling of experience provided by both companies.”

Fraser Moore, UK sales manager for Strokesaver, added: “The concept started a couple of years ago when both companies first met out in the field. We found many of our clients wanted a one-stop service and so we started looking for a signage company.

“Ken White Signs had new ideas and fresh products which was just what we were after. They have the same vision we have.

“Last January, we did our first show together at the BTME, the Bigga Turf and Management Exhibition, and we’ve been doing them ever since. Exhibiting jointly is a great way of promoting brand awareness and meeting clients. In only a short time we’ve gone from strength to strength and this is largely due in part to the exhibitions, which have created a lot of interest. I firmly believe that TiG will be hugely beneficial to both companies as time goes on.”
